An exceptionally nice example of tinwork from William Spratling.
The tin items were produced only during what is referred to as the first design period, 1931-1946. Also, items of copper, leather, fabric and of course silver were found in the early days at the Taller de las Delicias. These were relatively low cost, and they did rust easily. Consequently, very few items have survived. It is very unusual to find one in this condition.
This is approx. 14" by 13". It appears that at one time there was a painting in the frame, as there are traces of red paint along the edges. It could probably be removed, but we have decided to keep it as found.
