This pin design is featured on page 105 of the fantastic book "The Bakelite Jewelry Book" (1988).

Overdyed / resin washed bakelite (resin washed bakelite does not "test").

Three inches by 2.5".
Overall condition is good. Please see photos for details. 
The pin mechanism is a little rusty.
